Employees may be granted up to 24 hours of paid bereavement leave per occurrence following the death of an immediate family member. Immediate family members include a spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, parent, stepparent, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, or in-law.
Bereavement leave may be taken within 60 days of the date of the family member’s passing.
Employees must notify their direct supervisor and the HR team as soon as possible when a bereavement event occurs.
Employees should provide reasonable advance notice of their need for bereavement leave whenever circumstances allow. The company understands that advance notice may not always be feasible.
If additional time off is needed, employees may request to use accrued PTO, Paid Sick Leave (PSL), or unpaid leave, subject to supervisory approval and applicable company policies.
Employees may be required to provide reasonable documentation, such as a death certificate, obituary, funeral notice, or other acceptable verification to MICUHR@micb2b.onmicrosoft.com
